What to Expect?

Children Portraits

Color and texture work well for children.  You may want to avoid whites for very fair-skinned children to ensure natural skin tones.  Add some cute shoes or boots to the outfit or if you prefer,  we could try barefoot.  Allowing the child to wear clothing they feel good in helps for happy, natural expressions, but try to avoid fashionable trendy stuff and accessories that will date your portraits in years to come. Consider bringing your child’s favorite stuffed animal or any accessory from your home that would personalize your portraits.

Family Portraits
For sessions with multiple family members, define a color palette for the group to follow such as Earth Tones, Jewel Tones or Pastels.  This will give latitude for personal expression, but still create harmony in your portraits.  Also consider the “weight and style” of the clothing, for example one person in a short sleeved cotton shirt, and another in a heavy wool sweater will look untrue or unbalanced, regardless of color.  Dark clothing creates a nice contrast in a black & white portrait.  You will want to avoid white for very fair-skinned subjects for a natural skin-tone.  Don’t forget about shoes, as they may be visible, or we could try and plan on going barefoot.
Ensure a timeless portrait by avoiding heavy patterns, logos or trendy accessories.  Remove old nail polish or temporary tattoos to avoid extra retouching fees.  For make-up for adults, stay within your natural tones and look, but apply a little more than you would normally.

What is included in the Portrait Session Package:

This Portrait Session will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour.  I love taking pictures outdoor and using natural light.  This allows me to capture you in the best setting possible.  You are allowed to change into two outfits, we will capture different poses, and you will be able to view the images at the end of the session.

You will have at least 40 + images to review and you have to select top 30 for your personal CD.  I will retouch 10 images of your best top 30 and include that set on the CD (full-resolution).  You will also get professional prints of (1) 8×10 & (2) 5×7.
